Strategy First
About
Strategy First was a Canadian-based video game developer and publisher. The company filed for bankruptcy in 2005 and bought out by Silverstar Holdings for $1.5 million. History The company was founded in 1988. It focused on a variety of strategy games with multiple of in-home developed franchises. Strategy First had multiple conflicts with other companies, such as Introversion Software as SF stopped paying out royalties to Introversion after filing for bankruptcy. Stardock and BattleGoat Studios had the same conflicts with the publisher. Even in 2009, the company had not paid out any of the court-sanctioned royalties to various game development studios. Operations Strategy First focused mainly on the publishing of its own in-house developed titles and franchises like Jagged Alliance, Disciples, and Space Empires. The main focus of Strategy First were strategy games, a stated in the studio's name. However, Strategy First collaborated with many other developers like Team 6 on their FlatOut 3 and Europa Universalis by Paradox.
