About
Eidos Interactive was an English-based video game publisher and developer. The company got acquired by Square Enix in 2009 and is now defunct. History Founded in 1996, the company was initially specialized in developing video compression software for Acorn Archimedes computers. After several studio purchases, Eidos focused on video game development. It became one of the most rapidly growing video game companies in Europe. In February 2009, Square Enix purchased Eidos. Although the company's name was not used since the purchase, Eidos Interactive remains a semi-independent company without Square Enix intervening in its inner policies. Operations The main focus of Eidos Interactive were action titles. The studio produced and published titles were very influential in the video game industry.
