Remedy Entertainment
About
Remedy Entertainment is a Finnish video game developer based in Espoo. The studio is known for story-driven third-person shooters. The company became widely popular with its 2001 action game Max Payne. It was notable for the strong narrative, gritty neo-noir style and popularization of slow-motion effect in games in the form of bullet-time. The game was both commercially and critically successful and spawned two sequels. As of 2011, the total sales of Max Payne trilogy were around 7.5 million copies. It noticeably influenced the next Remedy title – Alan Wake, which also had strong sales and was well-received by critics. It featured unusual combat mechanics, elements of horror-game and had a tie-in six-episode live-action web series Bright Falls. The experimentation with the implementation of TV shows into video games continued with 2016 game Quantum Break which came out alongside an integrated live-action television show.
